Four measurements to prepare
Measure the pet and the space the product needs to fit.
Different products use different dimensions. These checks help you collect the information most often needed before comparing a product’s own size chart or installation guide.
Neck and Chest
For collars, LED harnesses and wearable trackers, measure where the product will actually sit on your pet.
Pet Height and Width
For smart pet doors and access systems, compare the pet’s body size with the usable opening dimensions.
Vehicle Space
For car seats, pet beds and barriers, measure the actual seat, cargo or back-seat area where the product will be placed.
Installation Area
For feeders, cameras, doors and monitors, check clearance, mounting space, cable access and nearby obstacles.

The correct measurement depends on what the product touches, supports or needs to move through.
Measure where the collar or harness actually sits.
Use a soft measuring tape and follow the product’s own measurement points for neck, chest or girth. A comfortable fit should allow normal movement without excessive looseness.
Compare the pet with the usable opening, not only the outer frame.
For smart doors and RFID access products, review the actual passage dimensions, pet height and body width, plus the installation surface and mounting space.
Check the footprint, bowl access and clearance around the device.
For feeders, fountains, cameras and monitors, compare the product dimensions with the placement area, power access and the pet’s normal approach path.
